Our founder, LATIF ATEŞ, traveled to Enkhuizen, Netherlands with his spouse in 1987. There, he began working at DE WIT, a tulip bulb production and export company in Bovenkarspel. He worked at DE WIT for a total of 5 years from 1987 to 1992. With the support of his boss at the time, LATIF ATEŞ brought the first tulip bulbs to Turkey since the Ottoman Empire.
From 1992 to 2016, tulip bulb import and export activities were carried out under the leadership of LATIF ATEŞ in collaboration with other companies. In May 2016, LATIF ATEŞ restarted tulip production on a 50-acre area in his hometown of Kızılkuyu. The company’s headquarters are in KONYA and the production center is in KARAMAN, which was highly advantageous for their partnerships with other companies. Today, ATLAS LALE has a production capacity of 100 million perennial bulbs per year and holds 95% of Turkey’s wholesale and retail sales segment.
LATIF ATEŞ also farms on 5,000 acres, producing Sweet Corn, Grain Corn, Barley, Wheat, Dry Beans, Decorative Pumpkin, Ornamental Gourd, and Oil Sunflower on these lands.
ATLAS LALE employs 43 people year-round and seasonally. Additionally, ATLAS LALE exports tulip bulbs to the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
